Robbie Fowler and 10,000 Liverpool fans sample Anfield's new Main Stand ahead of opening home game of the season against Leicester City

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler was among the special guests as 10,000 Reds supporters sampled Anfield's new Main Stand on Monday afternoon.

The former Liverpool striker oversaw a joint training session between Liverpool Ladies and the U23s squad in front of the impressive new addition to the stadium.

The Main Stand upgrade brings Anfield's capacity up to 54,167 - a significant increase in attendance numbers.

Last Friday evening, the club opened the doors of the redeveloped stadium to 5,000 fans for a test event.
