REVEALED: Manchester United stars given compulsory training schedules to follow at home instead of optional work-outs as preparations step up for the Premier League season to restart

Manchester United's players have stepped up their training at home in preparation for the season to restart.

United have told the squad to be ready to return to Carrington on May 18 as the Premier League gears up for the possibility of resuming in mid-June.

Assistant coach Michael Carrick has revealed that the players have now been given compulsory training schedules to follow at home instead of the optional work-outs they have done for the past two months.

'At the start, we left the lads alone because we were quite relaxed about it and could probably sense that it could be a good few weeks or months,' said Carrick.
