Relegation-threatened clubs demand Premier League season be suspended to 'protect its credibility' as three Leicester players face missing Watford clash due to coronavirus scare

Sportsmail understands that furious relegation-threatened sides will demand a suspension at the Premier League’s emergency meeting on Friday.

A group of clubs in and around the bottom six reacted with anger following Thursday’s business as normal announcement after three Leicester City players self-isolated before the Foxes clash with Watford.

They believe a weakened Leicester side would give the Hornets an unfair advantage in a tight race to avoid the drop and fear three points for the home club in the scheduled 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday at Vicarage Road could be pivotal, should the fixture go ahead.
