Referee Mike Dean demoted to the Championship for Barnsley vs Leeds clash following recent controversies

Mike Dean will take charge of the Yorkshire derby between Barnsley and Leeds on Saturday after being demoted to the Championship.

The 48-year-old came in for criticism over the festive period after some questionable decisions in the Premier League, including the controversial sending off of West Ham's Sofiane Feghouli against Manchester United.

That red card was later rescinded, while Dean's decision not to send Everton's Ross Barkley for an early bath after a late challenge on Jordan Henderson was also heavily debated after the Merseyside derby on December 19.
