Real Madrid 'set their sights on Michael Edwards' ahead of his Liverpool exit next summer... with Florentino Perez 'hopeful the sporting director can help REVOLUTIONISE the club' amid their financial woes

Real Madrid are reportedly hopeful of luring Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards to the Bernabeu when he waves goodbye to Anfield at the end of the season.

Liverpool confirmed last month that Edwards, who alongside manager Jurgen Klopp has helped guide the Reds back to the top of world football in recent years, is set to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract next summer.

The 42-year-old played a key role in the signings of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker in recent years, while he also negotiated Philippe Coutinho's nine-figure move to Barcelona in 2018.
