Real Madrid are 'prepared to sell £61m-rated Raphael Varane to Manchester United this summer' with the cash-strapped Spanish champions looking to sacrifice star defender to help fund £174m Kylian Mbappe swoop

Real Madrid are reportedly ready to sell Raphael Varane to Manchester United this summer in order to help fund their mammoth £174million swoop of Kylian Mbappe.

Varane has entered the final 18 months of his current deal with Real and would be allowed to leave the club for free next summer if he fails to agree on new terms with the club.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Spanish champions are pessimistic over Varane extending his stay at the Bernabeu and would rather recoup as much of his £61m market value instead of letting him run down his contract and leave for nothing.
