RB Leipzig named as German side to have bid rejected for Liverpool's Fabio Carvalho... with Reds 'reluctant to accept permanent deal but open to buy back option'

Liverpool are thought to have rejected RB Leipzig's opening bid to buy Fabio Carvalho outright, as they do not want to let the young forward leave permanently.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds signed Carvalho from Fulham for a £7.7million fee last summer after his role in helping the Cottagers win the Championship.

However, the 20-year-old started just seven games all season at Liverpool, leading to thoughts that Carvalho could be tempted with a move away from Anfield after just one season on Merseyside.

As previously reported by Mail Sport's Simon Jones, Liverpool had rejected a permanent offer for Carvalho from a mystery bidder, and now Fabrizio Romano has unveiled German club RB Leipzig as leading the march for the Portuguese star.
