RB Leipzig forced to give Liverpool £1.3MILLION as compensation after second leg of Champions League tie was moved from Anfield to Budapest because of Germany's Covid-19 quarantine rules

RB Leipzig will have to compensate Liverpool to the tune of £1.3million after the second leg of their Champions League tie was moved to Budapest.

Wednesday's return game cannot be played at Anfield because the German club would have to quarantine for 14 days upon returning home under their state's Covid-19 rules.

The match was therefore switched to the Puskas Arena in Hungary's capital - the same venue as the first leg last month - but at a cost for the Bundesliga club.
