A Swansea publican has lost an appeal against a £65,000 bill for unlawfully screening Premier League matches.
Anthony Luxton, of the Rhyddings pub, said European competition rules were flouted by an "unlawful agreement" between the Premier League and Sky.
But Appeal Court judges said, even if that was so, it would not make a difference in his case.
Mr Luxton used a domestic decoder to screen matches in the bar with no consent from the Premier League.
Lawyers said the publican breached Premier League copyrights by using the Scandinavian box for screenings in a commercial environment.
