Premier League's new man-of-the-match award is a gold coloured brick

From the Carling champagne to the Barclays ball, Premier League man-of-the-match awards have taken plenty of different forms over the seasons. And their new design is already creating a stir.

Man-of-the-match winners from the league's opening weekend were presented with the new black and gold design, with Raheem Sterling of Manchester City and Robert Snodgrass of Hull City showing it off on Instagram.

Manchester United's new superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic, meanwhile, was left a tad confused as he was asked to hand over the best player trophy to defender Eric Bailly having thought the recipient was Wayne Rooney.
