Premier League matches and other big British sports events will still allow fans in after government crisis talks led to call that there is 'no medical rationale for cancelling events' – but sport chiefs admit 'it's a moving situation'

Premier League games are set to go ahead with fans after crunch talks between government officials and sports chiefs and broadcasters today on the coronavirus outbreak.

Sport's governing bodies and television chiefs were summoned to Sports Secretary Oliver Dowden's offices to be given the latest 'clinical guidance' relating to holding fixtures.

Following the meeting in London, RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney said: 'There was no medical rationale for cancelling events or (playing them) behind closed doors yet, but clearly it is a moving situation so we'll keep talking and go from there.'
