The Premier League has confirmed that Peter McCormick will become interim chairman once Gary Hoffman steps down from his role on next month.
Hoffman will leave on February 1, and the top-flight clubs unanimously approved the temporary appointment while the search for a permanent candidate continues.
Sportsmail revealed last month that McCormick was being lined up for the position, with the Harrogate-based lawyer viewed as a safe pair of hands.
He has similar responsibility at the FA ahead of Debbie Hewitt, and stepped into the breach to replace Greg Clarke, who resigned in November 2020.
