Premier League clubs are hoping top-flight chiefs lead the way and make the crucial call on wage cut proposals for their players in talks later this week.
The division's 20 clubs will hold another conference call with league executives on Friday related to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
One of a number of issues on the agenda is whether or not wage cuts or deferrals should be introduced by clubs for their stars and, if so, how much.
