The Premier League has reacted with anger after rulemakers IFAB refused the latest attempt to trial temporary concussion substitutes next season.
On Friday, Sportsmail revealed that 18 of 20 club doctors had signed a letter to IFAB calling on them to permit a trial of the model from the start of the new campaign.
That came after an earlier request, backed by the FA and PFA, was rebuffed in January.
However, once again IFAB refused to budge from the ongoing trials of permanent concussion subs which many feel are not fit for purpose. At their AGM, in London, they threw their weight behind the model currently being trialled.
