The Premier League plan to restart the 2019-20 season with a bang by televising the first round of matches in full, starting on Friday and finishing on Monday.

This TV bonanza – expected to begin on either June 12 or June 19, depending on talks – is meant as a celebration of football and partial return to normality.

The stadium will be empty, and there might be odd eery silences, but Martin Tyler’s cry of ‘and it’s live’ will boom into your living rooms all the same.
