The Professional Footballers Association have sent a hard-hitting letter to their members condemning the EFL's proposals for a salary cap.
While cash-strapped EFL clubs are desperate to agree a bailout from the Premier League to help keep them afloat during the financial crisis caused by the pandemic, the PFA have sent a five-page document to players claiming that plans to introduce a salary cap are unlawful.
In the correspondence seen by Sportsmail, the PFA tell the players: 'At the PFA we recognise that some level of financial control will help to ensure the long-term stability of professional football.
