PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor criticised as official accounts reveal £2.2m salary despite players' union only spending £100k on research for head injuries and concussion

PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor has come under scrutiny after official accounts revealed his staggering £2.2million salary despite a lack of funding into key areas such as head injuries and concussion.

Taylor's pay has rocketed by a £1m over the last year and now equates to around £44,000 per week.

The 73-year-old was criticised on Monday after the accounts also showed where the PFA has spent its annual £17m grants budget.
