Pep Guardiola insists he isn't 'a coach for the tackles' after Manchester City concede four against Leicester

Pep Guardiola launched an incredible defence of his managerial philosophy after Manchester City's humbling 4-2 defeat at Leicester on Saturday by insisting: 'I am not a coach for the tackles.'

Guardiola and his players were rocked by Claudio Ranieri's Leicester who revived memories of last season's championship by scoring twice in the opening five minutes and going 3-0 up after 20.

Manchester City were a defensive shambles with £47.5million England defender John Stones and goalkeeper Claudio Bravo particularly vulnerable as they tried to play their way out at the back.

The visitors failed to win a 50-50 challenge in the opening half-hour and Jamie Vardy ended a 16-match goal drought by scoring his first Foxes hat-trick.
