Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has moved to temper expectations of a free-spending Manchester United this summer, given the economic impact of Covid.

United are set to announce their latest quarterly financial results on Wednesday after recording a £23.2million loss last year as a consequence of the pandemic.

Solskjaer wants to strengthen his squad but said United must be realistic.

'There are going to be less and less transfers happening with all these changes,' the United boss said.

'The lack of income, the finances has affected everyone. We have to be realistic and responsible in the way we do business on and off the pitch.
