Nottingham Forest are close to an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to bring Gio Reyna to the City Ground on loan until the end of the season.
The United States international has struggled for minutes at the Bundesliga outfit this term, averaging just 24.5 minutes per game in his 11 league appearances for Edin Terzic's side.
However the 21-year-old had been offered a potential escape route by Forest and a number of other clubs keen to take the talented attacking midfielder on loan.
The Premier League outfit had faced competition from Marseille in Ligue 1 for the player, who became the youngest American to make his bow in the Bundesliga, doing so at 17.
