Liverpool star Andy Robertson has sprung to the defence of Steve Bruce for what he describes as 'really unfair' criticism.
Bruce was confirmed as manager of Newcastle United on Wednesday and instantly hit with a wave of online abuse by fans questioning his credentials.
Robertson was disappointed by the reaction to Bruce's appointment.
The Scotland captain, who was signed from Dundee United by Bruce in 2014 when he was Hull City boss, was quoted by The Telegraph as saying: 'There has been a lot of negativity around it and I think that is really unfair for a man who has achieved what he has.
