Newcastle United legends Rob Lee and Faustino Asprilla have called on supporters to sign a petition to launch an investigation into the Premier League takeover process after the club's new ownership deal collapsed.
It was announced last week that Amanda Staveley, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and the Reuben Brothers had opted to walk away from the impending £300million takeover of the Magpies after four months of negotiation with the top-flight.
This news came as a shock and disappointment to several Newcastle fans and a petition, which now as over 55,000 signatures, was set up calling for Prime Minister Boris Johnson to investigate the Premier League's takeover process.
