Newcastle’s post-Saudi ownership structure and surprise Champions League qualification have given the club an ‘ambition and aspiration’ to dominate English football, according to chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan.
The 53-year-old has been the public face of the Magpies’ new owners since their controversial takeover in 2021.
Newcastle staved off relegation during the 2021-22 season before an unexpected fourth place finish, that has ensured - with their vast wealth - the club is ready to challenge for major honours far sooner than anticipated.
Al-Rumayyan, who has been regularly seen at St James’ Park since the Saudi-led purchase, reflected on the club's 'magical' season.
