Swansea City defender Neil Taylor looks set for a spell out after fracturing his cheekbone in training on Wednesday.
The Wales international was taken to hospital and will have an operation in due course, according to a statement issued by the club.
It is unconfirmed how long the 27-year-old will be on the sidelines for.
Meanwhile, winger Modou Barrow came off injured in the 28th minute of Swansea's 2-1 EFL Trophy last 16 win against Wolves on Tuesday.
