Mohamed Salah wins BBC's African Footballer of the Year after impressing in the Premier League for Liverpool and leading Egypt to the World Cup for the third time in their history

Mohamed Salah has capped off a brilliant year by winning the BBC's African Footballer of the Year.

The Liverpool and Egypt forward has impressed for club and country and was the standout winner for the award.

Salah, who joined the Reds for £39million from Roma in the summer, has been one of Jurgen Klopp's best performers this season.

The 25-year-old has scored 19 goals in 25 appearances for Liverpool, getting on the scoresheet 13 times in the Premier League, including the Merseyside derby against Eveton on Sunday.
