Mesut Ozil wouldn't have made it into Arsenal's 'Invincibles' team - Keown

The Germany international may be heralded as one of the world's best but he wouldn't have made the Gunners' team of 2003/04, according to Keown

Mesut Ozil would not have been good enough to get into Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ starting XI, claims club legend Martin Keown.

The Gunners won 26 games and had 12 draws during their famous 2003/2004 Premier League season, thus going unbeaten.

And Keown, who was largely used as a substitute during their run, claims Ozil - a World Cup winner – wouldn’t have displaced Dennis Bergkamp in the team.

"Ozil would not get in [to the Invincibles XI]," Keown said.
