Marcos Alonso's September reintroduction into English football might end up being looked back upon as one of a series of unlikely defining moments in this Premier League season.
With Chelsea three goals down at Arsenal, Alonso came on for a rather unremarkable 35 minutes in a team at their lowest ebb, with a manager trying out a new system.
But the growth in Antonio Conte's side since has been brilliant, with their Spanish wing back a key figure. Alonso has started every Premier League game since - with Chelsea winning most of them. It's not bad for a man who arrived in the summer labelled both a misfit and a Bolton and Sunderland reject.
