Marcos Alonso admits he was so ill at Manchester United he fell asleep in the second half... but Chelsea wing-back states he is ready to face Southampton

Marcos Alonso has declared himself ready to face Southampton on Tuesday having finally overcome the effects of a sickness bug that ruled him out of a clash at Manchester United.

Alonso pulled out of the 2-0 Old Trafford defeat earlier in April following the warm-up, but returned to action at the weekend during Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

The wing-back admitted that he was so ill before the Premier League clash that he missed the second half after falling asleep on the team bus.
