Master talent spotter Luis Campos is on a five-man shortlist to become the new director of football at Manchester United, according to reports.
The man responsible for discovering the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Anthony Martial was confirmed to have left Lille on Friday as part of a takeover at the Ligue 1 path.
That could pave the way for Campos to join United - and he is on a five-man shortlist that includes Monaco sporting director Paul Mitchell and Ajax's Marc Overmars, the Record has said.
Campos is thought to have been strongly suggested for the role by Jose Mourinho when he was United boss, with rumours circling that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward felt the move would have given the Portuguese too much power.
