Manchester United's director of football negotiations has flown to Florence in a bid to get a long-running pursuit of Sofyan Amrabat over the line on deadline day.
Fiorentina would prefer to reach agreement on a sale for Amrabat as United continue negotiations.
The Morocco international is valued around £25m-30m and United are looking to agree a loan with obligation for the 27-year-old who has one year left on contract.
The Italians, however, know that United have room for manoeuvre within financial fair play after bringing in £20m from Crystal Palace for Dean Henderson on Thursday.
