Manchester City new boy Ederson has revealed he used to play as a defender during his formative years learning the game, before being converted into a goalkeeper and embarking on a professional career.
Ederson completed his £35million switch to the Etihad Stadium this week after issues surrounding third-party ownership of the goalkeeper's economic rights was resolved.
The 23-year-old signed a six-year deal to become City's new No 1 as Pep Guardiola continued an overhaul of his squad that could cost up to £300million this summer - but Ederson's career could have been very different.
