The Brazilian was seen leaving his Manchester hotel on crutches earlier on Wednesday with a glum look on his face and a protective medical boot around his ailed extremity.

And he was right to look unhappy as Manchester City medical staff believe he will spend three months in rehabilitation, potentially ruling him out for the rest of the campaign.
