Manchester City are set to offer new Premier League champions Liverpool a guard of honour next week.
City, whose 2-1 defeat at Chelsea confirmed Liverpool's first title in 30 years, will make the gesture before their match at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday.
A quirk of the fixture list means the dethroned champions are Jurgen Klopp's side's first opponents since sealing the crown.
Forming a guard of honour, standing either side of the Liverpool team as they emerge from the tunnel, is not mandatory and at an individual club's discretion.
