Manchester City have suffered a devastating injury blow after confirming their new left-back Benjamin Mendy has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
The France international went down with the problem 29 minutes into Manchester City's 5-0 win over Crystal Palace with scans confirming the extent of the damage.
Mendy will undergo surgery with a knee specialist in Barcelona on Friday before starting what is likely to be a long road back to recovery.
