Manchester City have no reason to celebrate their first season under Pep Guardiola but are still heading in the right direction, insists chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
Guardiola ended the campaign without a trophy for the first time in his eight-year coaching career as City had to be satisfied with finishing third in the Premier League.
Al Mubarak admitted that the season has been a disappointment from that perspective, but believes Guardiola is laying the foundations for more success in the future.
He said: 'There's nothing that annoys me more than people either calling me or sending me a message congratulating me on third place.
