Luton Town 0-1 Tottenham: Micky van de Ven sends 10-man visitors top of the Premier League with hard fought win after Yves Bissouma's first half red card

Ange Postecoglou planted Tottenham's flag at the top of the Premier League, drank in the rarefied air and savoured the view. It could be the briefest of vistas for the man from Down Under because anything other than a draw at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and they will be dislodged.

But he has already recorded the club's best start to a top-flight campaign since they last won the title, the Double season of 1960-61, and he has forged steel in his team to go with their style.

They have coasted clear and fought back from behind and here they played more than half the game with 10 men because Yves Bissouma was sent off for diving but took the lead through Micky van de Ven and resisted Luton's spirited efforts to find an equaliser.
