Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has finally received his Samba Gold award after being crowned as the best Brazilian player in Europe last year.
Coutinho held off competition from La Liga stars Neymar, Casemiro and Marcelo to claim the illustrious title back in December but had to wait to receive the trophy until Thursday morning.
The 24-year-old, who was linked with a move to Barcelona in January, scored 13 goals for the Reds in 2016 as Jurgen Klopp's side climbed to second in the Premier League at the end of the calendar year.
He also helped Brazil to the top of their World Cup qualifying group for Russia 2018 with a number of impressive displays in South America.
