The sacking of Brendan Rodgers was the biggest single factor in staggering redundancy costs of almost £16m for Liverpool in the last financial year.
The figures are revealed in official financial statements lodged at Companies House yesterday.
Rodgers, 44, was sacked in October 2015 — little more than a year after signing a four-year deal — and replaced by Jurgen Klopp.

It was reported at the time his pay-off would be around £7m but further reported he could be due up to £5m a year more for two years depending on his future work situation.
