Liverpool in race to avoid fans' Champions League heartache after Kiev flight chaos

A string of cancellations by World Choice Sports have led to despair for supporters travelling to Ukraine and the club will aim to help those affected

Liverpool are striving to save supporters from Champions League final heartache after around 1,000 fans were left without flights to Kiev for this weekend’s game.

Travel company World Choice Sports announced on Thursday that it had been forced to cancel three separate trips, one departing on Friday and two on Saturday, with Kiev’s Boryspil airport unable to allocate times for its aircraft.

The company claimed it had “exhausted all avenues” and that it had “applied for [landing] slots in the correct manner and time frame”.
