Liverpool hit 57-year high with dramatic Champions League slaying of PSG

Liverpool’s dramatic Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain has seen them to their best start to a season in 57 years.

The Reds headed into a first European outing of the 2018-19 campaign buoyed by their performances on a domestic stage.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are only being kept off the top of the Premier League table by Chelsea on goal difference after taking maximum points from five fixtures to date.

That run has those at Anfield daring to dream of a first top-flight title since 1990.

There is also a desire on Merseyside to build on last season’s run to another final in continental competition, with Klopp still waiting on his first piece of major silverware as Reds boss.
