Liverpool expect Harvey Elliott to return later this season after the teenager underwent surgery on the ankle injury he suffered at Leeds last weekend.
Elliott, 18, sustained a fracture dislocation of his left ankle following a challenge from Pascal Struijk during the Reds’ 3-0 win at Elland Road on Sunday.
He was operated on in London on Tuesday, and now faces a number of months on the sidelines as he recovers.
