Liverpool are using Austrian Hans Leitert as a goalkeeping consultant to help their coach John Achterberg.
Reports emanating from Austria claimed Leitert, the former Austria Vienna keeper, had been appointed Liverpool's head of goalkeeping but the 45-year-old has been working with the Reds in an advisory capacity for the past 15 months.
Leitert, who worked at Tottenham previously under Juande Ramos, offers Liverpool's scouting department pointers on potential new targets and is on hand to give advice on current keepers when required.
Liverpool's goalkeepers have come in for considerable criticism over recent seasons with Jurgen Klopp swapping between Simon Mignolet and current No 1 Loris Karius.
