Liverpool 1-1 Everton: Wayne Rooney nets penalty after Mo Salah moment of brilliance as points are shared in snow-streaked Merseyside Derby

Wayne Rooney managed what he never achieved in his first spell at Everton - a goal against Liverpool - to rescue a point in a wintry Merseyside derby.

With the snow swirling around Anfield, Liverpool dominated possession and chances, but only took one - Mo Salah's terrifically curled shot just before half time.

They were made to pay when Dejan Lovren was adjudged to have pushed over Dominic Calvert-Lewin, allowing Rooney to blast home from the penalty spot.
