Leroy Sane out for up to six weeks with ankle ligament damage sustained in horror tackle by Cardiff's Joe Bennett

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Leroy Sane will be out for 'up to six weeks' after suffering ankle ligament damage against Cardiff.

The Germany star was injured by a high tackle from defender Joe Bennett as City launched a counter attack during their 2-0 win in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Guardiola called for players to receive more protection after watching Sane be forced off at half-time following the studs-up challenge.
