Riyad Mahrez has admitted he must adapt his game to deal with the ‘little plans’ constructed by opponents this season if he is to reproduce the form that saw him named PFA Player of the Year.
The Algerian winger said he had already noticed defenders closing him down quicker than in Leicester’s title-winning campaign but vowed to improve his touch, power and consistency.
Mahrez scored 17 Premier League goals and provided 11 assists last season, but has struggled to impose himself fully during pre-season and in the opening day defeat to Hull, even though he converted a penalty.
