Leicester City 'make fresh approach to sign Harry Souttar' after Stoke City 'turned down $17.8million bid' for Australia's World Cup hero with Brendan Rodgers desperate to solve his side's defensive problems

Leicester City have reportedly made a fresh approach to sign Australia centre-back Harry Souttar from Stoke City after the Potters turned down a $17.8m bid.

The towering defender caught the eye of potential suitors at the World Cup in Qatar last year, helping the Socceroos to reach the Round of 16 for the first time in 16 years.

Australia were knocked out by eventual champions Argentina but Souttar was a standout performer as Graham Arnold's men became the first Socceroos team to keep two clean sheets at the World Cup.
