Leicester 1-2 Everton: Gylfi Sigurdsson scores 25-yard screamer

A showreel of Gylfi Sigurdsson goals would be quite the watch but his latest might be worth a film all of its own.

There seemed little danger for Leicester when Sigurdsson shaped to collect a pass in midfield with his back to goal. But in an instant he had feinted away from James Maddison, who gave a rueful look to the skies at the deception, then let rip with a shot from 25 yards that bent into the top corner, the ball still seeming to accelerate as it hit the back of the net.

The goal came with 13 minutes left and won a game for Everton that strengthened belief in Marco Silva’s approach.
