The West Africans last appeared at the world sports gathering in Athens in 2004, and have endured several disappointing qualification campaigns in recent times.
The hiatus could very well end at the next event in Tokyo, Japan, as Ibrahim Tanko's outfit are close to securing qualification for the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, which will serve as the final African qualifier for the Olympics.
