Leeds striker Bamford ruled out of action for four months

The Championship leaders will have to make do without the English striker for the next four months after he sustained a serious injury last week

Patrick Bamford will miss four months of action due to a serious knee problem, Leeds United officials have confirmed on Tuesday.

Bamford, who joined the club from Middlesbrough in a reported £10million deal back in July, sustained a posterior cruciate ligament injury playing in an Under-23 fixture against Bristol City at Elland Road on Friday.

The striker has made five substitute appearances in the Championship this season, with Leeds currently sitting level on points with his old club at the top of the table.
