Klopp backed to silence 'clowns' criticising £177m Liverpool spend

Former Reds star Paul Ince believes the German was right to splash the cash this summer, with those at Anfield aware that they needed to invest

Critics of Jurgen Klopp’s £177 million ($229m) spending spree at Liverpool have been branded “clowns” by Paul Ince, with the Reds boss considered to have done the right thing in bolstering his ranks.

A top-four finish and Champions League final berth were secured by the Anfield outfit in 2017-18, but they have parted with Philippe Coutinho and Emre Can over the last few months.

With defensive leaks having also been an issue, Klopp has splashed the cash addressing supposed weaknesses and adding depth to his squad.
